Project highlight | Datacentre campus grounding project
A large datacentre campus in the Netherlands, with around 15 linked buildings, needed a full lightning protection and grounding system. The challenge was clear: the installation had to meet both American and British standards, which differ from the systems normally used in the Netherlands. At the same time, reliability and uniformity across the whole campus were critical.
DKW delivered a 25×3 copper busbar grounding system with exothermic welds, fully meeting the required international standards. Because the project required materials that are not normally available locally, DKW arranged the supply of these products and worked closely with the project team during design and installation.
This project combined several demanding factors that makes it unique:
⚡Strict datacentre reliability standards
⚡International grounding requirements
⚡Use of non-standard materials
Through strong cooperation with Dutch installers like Jules Goossens Bliksembeveiliging, and by using our European network, we were able to provide solutions that were difficult to source through local suppliers alone.
A strong example of how the right partners and technical know-how make complex projects possible.
